Now here's a couple of useful tools for you for adding or subtracting GST values.

Here are some useful online tools I've created for your convenience.

GST Tools

Why these tools?

Sometimes it is necessary to have a GST deducted value while entering into a billing software which would automatically add the set GST values after you enter the amount without tax into it. And sometimes it is useful to have a handy GST added to see what would be the GST added value of something.

I thought it would be handier to have an easy tool to add or deduct GST values instead of heading to a calculator every time, after all, what are programs and computers for but for saving time? So, I hurriedly wrote a little script using some HTML, JavaScript, and CSS for it, and then added more features to it. (Yes, all the code was written...I mean typed by hand, for that's the way I like to do HTML, CSS, and scripts.)

To make it even more useful, I've also added a "Copy Value" button so that you can just copy the result and paste it wherever you want, for example, Ctrl+V into your Tally or any other billing program that you may use.

So check out the new tools section, or just use the links below to go to either GST Deductor or to GST Adder.

Right now it is useful for 5 different GST rates with the default set to 18%. Bookmark the links to the GST Deductor and Adder in your web browser so that you can always have it handy when you need it. Let me know if you found it useful.

How to use these tools?

Here are some tips to help you use this with ease.

When using a keyboard
  1. Hitting ENTER after entering the input amount will give the result value and it will also shift focus to copy result button. Now just hit ENTER again and it will copy the result. That is, hitting ENTER twice after entering the imput value will copy the result.
  2. Just use ESC key to clear everything and focus will shift back to input amount.
  3. F5 key clears everything and resets the GSTR slab back to the default 18%. I've chosen this as a default as most of the goods and services fall under this category than any other category.

What is GST?

Hey, I thought you already knew this! Well, if you didn't, then GST means Goods and Service Tax, implemented in India.

GST is a single tax on the supply of goods and services to ensure common indirect tax rates and structures across the country, right from the manufacturer to the consumer. It is comprehensive, that is, it includes almost all of indirect taxes. It is a single and transparent tax that is proportionate to the value of goods and services.
